FOOTBALL PREVIEW 2019 1. Defensive end Bradley Chubb at Florida State, 2017 This became the national coming out party for Chubb. At one point late in the fourth quarter, while showing the hits made on Florida State rookie quarterback James Black- man, the broadcast team joked, "This is the Chubb package as well," since Chubb was responsible for most of them. He finished the afternoon with seven tackles, three stops for loss, two sacks and forced a fumble when FSU was driving that resulted in a turnover in the 27-21 win over the 11th-ranked Seminoles. 2. Chubb at Boston College, 2017 On a cold afternoon in November in Chestnut Hill, Mass., Chubb made history by surpassing Mario Williams on the all-time sacks list at NC State. He finished the game with nine tackles, five stops for loss and 2.5 sacks, and NC State needed all of them in a 17-14 win. Chubb also forced a fumble that was recovered by the Pack. 3. Center Garrett Bradbury vs. Louisville, 2018 This was Bradbury's best game in a Wolfpack uniform. He graded out at 97 percent, the highest grade up front in the three years that offensive line coach Dwayne Ledford tutored the unit, and did not allow a pressure in 67 snaps. He also had a pair of knock- down blocks and helped the Pack gain 518 total yards in a 52-10 win. Bradbury was named ACC Lineman of the Week for the performance. 4. Tight end Jaylen Samuels vs. Clemson, 2015 Third-ranked Clemson would make the first of its four straight and counting College Football Playoff appearances this year, advancing to the national title game before los- ing a close one to Alabama. In his first extended action against the ACC powerhouse, Samuels could not be contained. He had six rushes for 65 yards and a score, and caught eight passes for 74 yards and another touchdown in a 56-41 loss. That's a total of 14 touches for 139 yards and two scores. 5. Samuels vs. Vanderbilt, 2016 The Pack saved its best for last at the end of 2016, routing Vanderbilt 41-17 in the Independence Bowl. Samuels did his damage receiving in this game, catching six passes for 104 yards and three touchdowns. 6. Chubb vs. Syracuse, 2017 One week after his dominant performance against the Seminoles, Chubb was at it again. He piled up eight tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss and two sacks against the Orange in a 33-25 home win. 7. Wide receiver Stephen Louis at North Carolina, 2016 A 5-6 Wolfpack squad direly needed a win for both bowl eligibility and program stabil- ity, and Louis came up big. He caught four passes for 124 yards and a touchdown, which came on a 59-yard pass from Samuels on a trick play. 8. Linebacker Germaine Pratt at Syracuse, 2018 At first glance, a 51-41 loss at Syracuse would not seem like the ideal game to find a standout defensive performance, but Pratt showcased his first-team All-ACC skills with 16 tackles and 2.5 sacks. 9. Bradbury vs. East Carolina, 2018 While his performance against Louisville was probably his most dominant, this game may have been his most memorable. That's because Bradbury actually scored a touch - down in the 58-3 win. He also helped NC State gain 655 total yards, including 234 on the ground. Running back Reggie Gallaspy Jr. ran 24 times for 220 yards and two scores, tying for the fourth-best rushing yardage total in one contest in school history. 10. Safety Shawn Boone at Boston College, 2017 On an afternoon when the offense was failing to gain much traction, Boone made several key plays to keep the Eagles off the board. He intercepted a pass in the end zone on BC's open - ing possession and also added a sack when the Eagles led 14-10 in the fourth quarter, forcing a punt. NCSU would score the eventual game- winner on the next possession. NFL Draft Garrett Bradbury — Minnesota Vikings, first round, 2019 Bradley Chubb — Denver Broncos, first round, 2018 B.J.
