ANNA ROGERS/ALANA SMITH
Tennis
The combination of junior Anna Rogers and freshman Alana Smith are not only helping to revitalize
the women's tennis program, they are also making history. The two received a top-eight seed into
the NCAA Doubles Championships, and Rogers earned a top-16 seed designation in the NCAA Singles
Championships.
Based on that, the two became the first-ever All-Americans in program history, with Rogers earning
it in both doubles and in singles. Rogers and Smith then advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA
Doubles Championships, further than any duo in Wolfpack history.
Along the way, the two defeated 15 ranked doubles opponents en route to their 35-6 record, in-
cluding going 6-2 versus top-25 duos and setting a new school mark for most wins in a season. They
finished the year
No. 4 in the Oracle/Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings, the highest ever
received by a Pack doubles team.
