Notes: Notre Dame had a fifth and sixth straight series without a first down to begin the second half before the pass interference call on Mich- igan ended the drought that went back to the four-minute mark of the first quarter … Michigan began the first three series in the second half from its own 25, 12 and 16, and went three-and-out each time before an- swering Notre Dame's score with its own touchdown drive. FOURTH QUARTER: MICHIGAN 45-14 Top Moment: Michigan sealed the game with a 64-yard drive cul- minated by a 16-yard touchdown pass from Patterson to junior wide receiver Nico Collins with 11:29 re- maining to up the lead to 31-7. Pat- terson connected with Sainristil on the previous play for 34 yards. Standout Performance: Michi- gan's passing attack. With the rain having subsided and the Michigan ground attack needing the attention of the Notre Dame defense, Patter- son completed 3 of 4 pass attempts in this quarter for 70 yards — or more than double the 30 he had the first three quarters — while backup Dylan McCaffrey was 2 of 2 for 34 yards — with a 26-yard scoring strike to Sainristil that made it 45-7 with 4:23 left. In between, Michigan reserve run- ning back Tru Wilson scampered for a 27-yard touchdown at the 8:46 mark that made it 38-7. Stats: After outgaining Notre Dame 189-52 in total offense in the first half, Michigan had a 248-128 advantage in the second half, with 136 rushing and 112 passing by the Wolverines. Notes: Notre Dame sophomore quarterback Phil Jurkovec was in- serted into the game at 11:29 after the Irish fell behind 31-7 … He fin- ished 3-of-4 passing for 60 yards, and finished the scoring with a 14-yard touchdown toss to senior wide re- ceiver Javon McKinley for the game's final tally at 3:45. ✦ MICHIGAN 45, NOTRE DAME 14 Oct. 26, 2019 ✦ Attendance: 111,909 Michigan Stadium ✦ Ann Arbor, Mich.
