game," Berenson said. "When I wrote my reports on his games, I wrote things like, 'Good, lucky, needs to keep improving.' But the good thing is he learned how to play in big games. There are no question marks about the experience he got this year. It was as good as it gets. "Our team played well in front of him, but don't kid yourself, he kept us in the game against Ferris, kept us in the game against Miami (Ohio) and kept us in the game against Notre Dame. He might have been our best player in that last game against Notre Dame. "And he learned how to win on the road. He grew up a lot in the last six weeks." Emerging Threats Offensively And Defensively Helped by their strong finish offensively — the Wolverines averaged 4.10 goals in their final 10 games — the Maize and Blue concluded the year seventh nationally in scoring with 3.23 Streak Of Winning Seasons   Comes To An End Michigan's 22-year NCAA Tournament streak came to a halt when the Wolverines failed to win the CCHA playoffs. The men's swimming and diving team, which won a national title this year, holds the record for consecutive winning seasons at 57, beginning in 1957 and extending through 2013.
