To that end, U-M could schedule many of its former CCHA brethren, but Berenson said the Maize and Blue have no intention of playing Western Michigan, Ferris State, Northern Michigan, Notre Dame and Miami (Ohio), at least not in 2013-14. Instead, the Wolverines will look to play some of college hockey's elite programs. "We're continuing to keep our competitive relationship open with schools like Boston College, Boston University and New Hampshire," Berenson said. "We want to play the best programs in the East as well as the West." Berenson said Michigan will play two games at UNH next season and two at Nebraska-Omaha. U-M will also play at least one game against both BC and BU, though the location has yet to be determined. Michigan Tech, which is coached by former longtime U-M assistant Mel Pearson, will also come to Ann Arbor for two games. "That's the first I've heard of our schedule and I'm really pleased, especially UNH," said Bennett, a native of Rhode Island. "It will be nice to play close to home. And then BU and BC gets me going for sure. Nebraska and New Hampshire — that is something I'm definitely excited for. That'll be crazy." ❑
