michigan hockey Lee Moffie, who saw action in 142 games during his four seasons with the Wolverines, is grateful to have had the opportunity to play for head coach Red Berenson. I'm pretty upset I have to leave this lifestyle. That's definitely the hardest part for me." Moffie played in only 29 of Michigan's 45 games in 2010, and then 32 of 44 in 2011. The past two years, he played in all 81 of Michigan's contests, maturing a great deal. "There were definitely a couple times my freshman and sophomore years where I'm calling my parents and being like, 'Who is this Red guy? He hates me. I don't know why I'm not playing, I'm producing points,'" Moffie relayed. "He changed my game so much just without even really saying anything to me. Just by making a point that I need to play defense. 'Defense needs to be your game. You're not going to play anywhere unless you can play defense. Put up all the points you want, but if you're going to get scored on, you can't play.' "That was the mindset I took into games. If I was just going to be on for a goal, I wasn't going to play the next night. And I think that made me such a better player and definitely better defensively. So to Red I owe a lot of thanks, even though at the time I didn't like him at all."
