People are going to give up free bases, and the Purdue game is a big example. We have to capitalize when they give us free bases. Romero just has to be patient and take it if that's what they choose to do, and try to help us win by being on base." Romero has been the spark for the Wolverines — but the entire lineup is lethal, from top to bottom. As of April 7, Michigan ranked No.  8 nationally in batting average (.338), No. 7 nationally in scoring (7.2 runs per game) and No. 24 nationally in slugging percentage (.505). Those numbers spiked even more after the Michigan State series.
