Although they lost two games of
the three-game series, the Wolverines
began to see things clicking during
their first Big Ten series of the season,
against Minnesota March 29-30. The
Gophers won 3-1 and 2-1, while the
Wolverines notched an 11‑3 triumph.
"There were encouraging things
to take from those games," Cronenworth said. "The offense just has to
come around. In games like that when
defense and pitching are good, if we
can get a couple big hits, it's going to
be big."
Pitching Coming Around
A year ago, left-handed pitcher
Evan Hill was pitching for Mt. Pleasant (Mich.) High School. Now, he's
the Wolverines' ace.
