where are they now? can't tell you enough. This young man is a superstar, and a Michigan Man. His roots are in Saginaw, Michigan, and he's a Michigan Man through and through. "He's a great repre- sentative of our university." And plans to be for as long as he can. ❏ The C.J. Lee File Michigan Accomplishments: Played in 67 games as a Wolverine and 103 total in his collegiate career (he transferred to U-M after two years at Manhattan College) … Earned a second semester scholarship as a senior after walking on … Awarded a full scholarship from Beilein during his fifth year, was named a co-captain and was key in Michigan's late-season run and subsequent return to the NCAA Tournament in 2009, where U-M advanced to the round of 32 … Big Ten Outstanding Sportsmanship Award winner … Michigan Daily Student of the Year honoree, one of 10 recipients … Finished his career with his first career double-digit scoring performance, scoring 11 points against Oklahoma in the second round of the NCAA Tournament … Two-time Academic All-Big Ten selection … Awarded the Thad Garner Leadership Award twice, the Wayman Britt Outstanding Defensive Player (2009) and the Steve Grote Hustle Award (2008) … Averaged 2.8 points and 1.5 assists as a fifth-year senior captain. Michigan Memory: Watching freshman Spike Albrecht's 17-point half in this year's national title game brought back memories of Lee's big game in a second-round loss to Oklahoma in 2009. "That was great to see," Lee said. "Spike is just a tremendous person. To see him have success on that big stage was inspiring for people who aspire to play on this level … and he certainly put in the work." Lee's similar moment on the big stage came when he scored 11 points in a second-round loss to Oklahoma in the 2009 NCAA Tournament. The Sooners pulled away for the win, but U-M did the program proud. "We definitely felt like had the opportunity to win that one," he said. "Everyone talks about Blake Griffin's 33 [points] and 17 [rebounds], but what I remember is that their guards hit big shots and timely shots to break up our runs. We could have won in spite of Griffin's 33 and 17." Current Occupation: Lee rejoined the Michigan basketball program as an administrative specialist, taking over Travis Conlan's role in 2010. Conlan moved up to the director of basketball operations role held by Brian Townsend, who was promoted elsewhere in the athletic department. Education: Bachelor's degree in political science, 2008. Lee completed his master's degree in public policy from the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy in May 2010. Family: Lee is single and resides in the Ann Arbor area.
