On April 14, Burke announced his intentions to jump to professional basketball. ESPN analyst Tim McCormick looks forward to Burke's further progression in the game. "It's going to be fun to watch him evolve as an NBA player," McCormick said. "He's transcendent at the college level, and I would imagine he's going to continue making Michigan fans extremely proud as he goes on and becomes a professional. "… He's ready. He will continue to get stronger. He has given Michigan everything he has, and it's time for some new challenges." I really do. "A lot of it has to do with the organization he goes to, and who he's surrounded by. He's proven to be durable. He has deep range on that shot. He's an excellent passer and excellent facilitator. He will be a star at the next level."
