Bolden saw action in 12 games as a true freshman last year, recording 31 total stops and four tackles for loss. He saw significant minutes against Air Force in week two, notching 10 tackles, and gained traction late in the year in tallying 14 stops (three for loss) in the final four games. The 6-3, 222-pounder, like Morgan, is an ideal fit in the middle, providing a more athletic Mike than most teams will feature. "Everything for us is speed," Mattison said. "You want always to have guy that can move." Defensive Line: Michigan should be three-deep at weakside end, strongside end, nose tackle and defensive tackle, and the cream will rise to the top. It already has to some degree, with junior Frank Clark the early favorite at rush end, redshirt sophomore Keith Heitzman impressing at strongside end, senior Quinton Washington and sophomore Ondre Pipkins battling every day at the nose, and senior Jibreel Black assuming control of the three-technique. "I love the ability to rotate," Mattison said. "I made a serious comment when we were watching film — 'Guys, you've got to understand, all I'm asking you to do is go as hard as you can go and it's never wrong for you to raise your hand. If you can't go, raise your hand. We're going to develop a guy behind you, and that guy goes hard.' "When you get that up front, you're going to have a front you'll really like watching because they are going to go hard every snap." — Michael Spath
