Overall, I think that's been the biggest thing for Notre Dame. When you look at the past, they got these big games and they were just overwhelmed so quickly. These guys were able to run at all skilled positions defensively. [Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah] and KYLE HAMILTON — bet - ter than advertised." ACC Network's Eric Mac Lain on what's different about this Notre Dame team compared to past seasons (The Athletic) "We're lucky to have them associated with us this year. They are really good, and good for them. And I think everybody that loves the ACC would like to see them join." — North Carolina head coach Mack Brown on Notre Dame being part of the ACC (Associated Press) "I was sick to my stomach. I felt really ineffective as a public health person. I felt like I was wringing my hands and asking the woulda, shoulda, coulda questions, and that's an uncomfortable place to be … " "If you're confident going in and anticipating a win, this should have been part of the anticipation pack- age. We talked about how the messaging could have been better. Having riot police might have been the only thing we could have done to keep them off the field. In hindsight, is there anything that could have been or should have been done? Yeah, probably so." — Mark Fox, the St. Joseph County deputy health direc- tor, on Notre Dame students rushing the field after defeating Clemson (The New York Times) "I found out more about Notre Dame. As I've watched film of Notre Dame and their offense and their ability to run the ball and how good their offensive line is, the step that Ian Book took on Saturday — his ability to go downfield with the football and take those shots, that was the only thing that offense was lacking. We knew they had to run it. We knew Ian Book could run the ball. But he was also a check-down quarterback, he was taking the underneath throws. When you watch film, the deeper throws were avail- able, he just wasn't taking them. "On this night, for some reason — I don't know why, maybe it was the stage, maybe it was the team they were playing against — he decided he was going to take those shots, and in the biggest moments, especially on third downs, he was willing to go downfield and make some incredible throws. And if he's willing to do that moving forward, then Notre Dame's offense becomes just as explosive as Clemson and Alabama or as an Ohio State. I learned much more about Notre Dame and definitely about Ian Book." — ESPN's Joey Galloway on the College Football Playoff Top 25 Show "We test Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, so testing now has become part of the coaching daily habits, in terms of who's available and who's not available. I hope that I never get used to it, but it is part of what we do now, in terms of our daily check-ins, in terms of who's available. I do not come in every day wary or afraid or not thinking that we are going to play. We're just not at that point. Since our outbreak, we have never had a scenario where we have let our guard down in any fashion." — Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly on how the COVID-19 pandemic impacts his team on a day-to-day basis PHOTO BY MIKE MILLER OF THE WEEK ➤ "Only players with 3+ rushing TDs in a game vs Clemson since 2014: Kyren Williams, Notre Dame (2020) Dalvin Cook, Florida State (2016) Derrick Henry, Alabama (2015) Todd Gurley, Georgia (2014)" — The official account of Pro Football Focus College (@PFF_College) Nov. 9 YOU DON'T WAIT FOR MAIL DELIVERY!
