Michigan Places Atop Big Ten All-Sports Standings For 2012-13 On the strength of six Big Ten regular-season or tournament/championship titles, Michigan's varsity sports bested its 11 conference competitors in the 2012-13 allsports standings. The Wolverines claimed titles in men's gymnastics, men's swimming and diving, women's gymnastics, softball, women's tennis and women's cross country. However, strength at the top alone does not mean much if the rest of the programs falter. That wasn't the case with the Wolverines; eight other teams finished among the top three in their sport, with 18 programs overall placing among the top five teams in their sport. With 24 varsity sports competing in the Big Ten — men's ice hockey and lacrosse competed in other leagues last year, and women's lacrosse has not yet started — an astounding 75.0 of the Maize and Blue's programs ranked among the upper half of their sport.   2012-13 Big Ten All-Sports Standings Overall Results Season Reg.
