moved from the comfortable confines of Crisler
Center with eligibility remaining, hoping to live
a dream at the next level
of their sport. On June 27,
those dreams became reality.
The Minnesota Timberwolves picked Burke
with the No. 9 selection
in the NBA Draft, but college basketball's 2012-13
consensus Player of the
Year quickly discovered
the business side of the
NBA. The T-Wolves dealt
him immediately to Utah,
for the No. 14 and No. 21
picks.
Burke appeared slightly
stunned when the Detroit
Pistons passed on him —
in favor of Georgia guard
Kentavious Caldwell Pope
— with the No. 8 pick. Burke was chosen by the Minnesota Timberwolves with
Burke didn't have to wait the No. 9 pick of the 2013 NBA Draft, and he was then
