night. U-M would rattle off four more wins in a row, starting with a 3-2 victory over No. 4 Nebraska in which the Wolverines trailed 2-0 before rallying to win. "That was the turning point for us because we adopted this mentality that even though we were down, we weren't done," Cross said. "We were playing loose, having fun, and playing together as one. When we came back and beat them in five, the light bulb sort of went off for all of us that if we keep playing that way— kept having fun on the court and playing for each other — we could beat anybody." One Final Hurdle Spurred on by its five-match winning streak, including a victory over No. 10 Minnesota, Michigan ran into trouble when it dropped back-to- back meetings with Northwestern (5-15 in league action) and Illinois (8-12).
