Michigan's representatives are all veteran leaders, two from the offensive side of the ball and one from the defense. Redshirt junior quarterback Devin Gardner, fifth-year senior offensive tackle Taylor Lewan and fifth-year senior safety Thomas Gordon will all be in attendance for the Wolverines. Wisconsin — Jared Abbrederis, Sr., WR*; Chris Borland, Sr., LB*; James White, Sr., RB. * Indicates previous All-Big Ten selection Jon Runyan Jr. Commitment Adds To U-M's Father-Son Legacies When Jon Runyan Jr. (a June 25 commitment) steps foot on the Michigan campus in the fall of 2015, the offensive lineman will join a long line of sons that followed their fathers to Ann Arbor. The earliest known father-son combo at U-M occurred in 1922, when William Herrnstein Jr. arrived as a freshman and donned the winged helmet that his dad, William Sr., wore briefly in 1898 and 1900. William Jr. was also the nephew of Albert, who starred at halfback for the Maize and Blue from 1899-1902. Then, 31 years after William Jr. departed, his son, John, lettered at Michigan from 1956-58.
