Lyons is an On3 Consensus four-star prospect who attends Roman Catho- lic High. Before visiting on April 6, he narrowed his list to five schools: Penn State, Cincinnati, Illinois, Pittsburgh and West Virginia. The Nittany Lions hold a big edge when you compare vis- its; he's now been on campus five times since June 2021. That number is even higher if you include some group visits when he was younger. West Virginia is the only other staff he's visited with, his trip to Morgantown having taken place in January. "I've probably been to Penn State, since my freshman year, six or seven times," Lyons said. "That's my home- town school. From the environment to the academics to the team meetings to the coaching staff, everything there works for me. I went to the White Out game at Penn State one time, and it was incredible. I could picture myself walk- ing out the tunnel there, being there for the next three or four years, being in that blue and white. " Coa c h Fra n k l i n i s a g rea t h ea d coach, too. There aren't too many people out there in the world who re- ally want to help people out. He cares about you more than just a football player. He wants to help you get to the NFL, but also be successful after that. So, I know Penn State has got a good coach there." Snowden is another player with whom Penn State seems to be trend- ing in a positive direction. An On3 three-star prospect, he returned for his second visit on March 26 and raved about the experience. His first visit was last September for the game against Auburn, and Snowden's most recent trip was his first opportunity to spend quality time with the coaching staff. "I personally felt like I was home," Snowden said. "Spending time with Coach [Anthony] Poindexter … and just everybody up there, it felt great. My mom came with us, and she loved it. She saw all the history there, and where I would be living. It just felt like home. I can't emphasize that enough." Four-star linebacker Tony Rojas of Fairfax, Va., has been favoring Penn State for a while, but the Lions will have to fend off Clemson and Virginia Tech for his signature. PHOTO BY GREG PICKEL
