workouts. It's used for building strength and endurance, which are a big part of Parks game. "He's a powerful guy, and he does a good job of hiding," O'Brien added. "He's not tall in stature, but he does a good job of using his blockers." Having already begun to make a mark Virginia, Parks has an opportunity to go down as one of the best running backs in school history. Not bad considering it's a school that produced the likes of Tiki Barber, Thomas Jones, Barry Word, Wali Lundy and plenty of others. In fact, only Lundy rushed for more yards in his first two seasons than Parks, who has gained 1,443 on the ground so far. With new offensive coordinator Steve Fairchild calling plays and a first-year starter at quarterback, Virginia will likely run the ball plenty, making the North Carolinian one of the hardest working players in the ACC. But that's OK with Parks, who likes the idea of joining that list of amazing Virginia running backs. "I want to be great," he said. "Records are meant to be broken, so that's my motivation when I come into the weight room or when we go outside and run gassers. It's my goal to be one of the best running backs to come through UVa." He appears to be well on his way to meeting that goal. — Shane Mettlen Cavaliers At A Glance Head Coach: Mike London, 16-21 at UVa (4th year) and 40-26 career (6th year) 2012 In Review: 4-8, 2-6 ACC (6th Coastal) Last Bowl Appearance: Lost 43-24 to Auburn in the 2011 Chik-fil-A Bowl Total Wins 2008-12: 24 (5-3-4-8-4) 2013 Preseason National Rankings: No. 57 by Phil Steele's No. 62 by Athlon, No. 78 by USA Today and No. 79 by Lindy's.
