She also contributed to 27 doubles victories and was a part of two ranked tandems at the end of the year, including No. 34 with partner Li Xi. 3. Kelly Boyd, Lacrosse — She did not make her collegiate debut until the seventh game of the year, but made a huge impact on the offensive end. In 12 games, the native of Baltimore scored 12 goals and also tallied a pair of assists. She notched a hat trick in the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals and ranked third on the team in scoring with five goals during postseason play. 4. Makenzy Doniak, Soccer — The rookie became the first Cavalier to score a goal in each of the first five games of her career, and she went on to finish second on the team with 10 goals, eight assists and 28 points. She was named to the first-team All-Freshman team by both Soccer America and TopDrawerSoccer.com, and was also awarded All-Freshman honors by the ACC. 5. Natalie Bausback, Volleyball — The outside hitter from Carlsbad, Calif., was named to the ACC All-Freshman team after she paced Virginia with 292 kills, the ninth-most in program history for a rookie, and 27 aces during her debut campaign. She also compiled 153 digs, which ranked third on the squad, and 998 attacks, which ranked as the fourth-most ever by a UVa first-year. — Ryan Tice
