Not only was the weather perfect, but the result on the field went about as well as it could have gone, with the Nittany Lions beating Minnesota 45-17. Penn State looked good on both sides of the ball, and when you're coming off a loss like the one it suffered against Michigan a week earlier, it needed a bounce-back game. It was also an important night for the future of the program. White Outs are typically big recruiting events, and Penn State's staff hosted more than 130 pros- pects for this year's game. Along with a number of verbally committed players in the Lions' 2023 class, there were 51 additional prospects on hand who have received scholarship offers from Penn State, including three notable 2023 players. That group included North Carolina commit Kaveion Keys, a Penn State linebacker target. Keys chose the Tar Heels over PSU in August, but now that he's returned to State College, it's clear that he's still interested. A native of Richmond, Va., Keys is a four-star prospect according to On3, with offers from many of the nation's top schools. It's also believed that Au- burn and Texas A&M are speaking with Keys and would like to get him on cam- pus in the weeks ahead. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound prospect is ranked No. 168 nationally by On3 and No. 14 at the linebacker position. Wide receiver Devin Hyatt, from IMG Academy in Florida, also made the trip north. A three-star prospect who grew up in South Carolina, Hyatt is the younger brother of Tennessee wide receiver Jalin Hyatt. Because of that connection, many have speculated that he will likely end up in Knoxville, but his recruitment remains open. South Carolina and Kentucky are also believed to be in the mix with the 6-foot-1, 179-pound receiver. Defensive end Joseph Mupoyi of St. Thomas More in Oakdale, Conn., also made the trip. A teammate of Penn State cornerback commit Zion Tracy, Mupoyi has been on campus a few times over the past year, including for last year's White Out game against Auburn. He also came back to Penn State in July to spend a personal day with the staff. Mupoyi has been very quiet about his recruitment, but we know he's taken visits to Auburn, Maryland and Michigan since the summer. The 6-5, 235-pound defensive lineman holds a four-star rating from On3. The vast majority of top prospects on hand for this year's White Out were from the 2024 class.
