For the eighth time in the history of the NC State cheerleading program, the Wolfpack
won a National Cheer Association (NCA) collegiate championship.
This year's championships were held in Daytona Beach, Fla., from April 5-9. Under head
coach Harold Trammel in his 20th season at the helm, NC State topped ACC rival Louisville
for first place in the Advanced Small Coed Division IA competition.
The Pack had the highest score in prelims, with Arkansas State second and Louisville in
third.
In the final, NC State produced an event score of 96.4885, handily outpacing the Cards,
who leaped past Arkansas State to finish as runners-up with a mark of 94.8912.
