JUNE/JULY 2023 ❱ THE WOLVERINE 7 THE BIG PICTURE On May 2, Michigan had a morning visit to the Arlington National Cemetery and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, where players Michael Barrett, Cornelius Johnson, J.J. Mc- Carthy and Rod Moore had the honor of laying the wreath. The team split up for a variety of activities to close out its time in D.C. Day 6 of the trip on May 3 saw the Wolverines make their way from D.C. to Gettysburg, Pa., where the team traveled through the Gettysburg Military Park Museum and Battle- field before flying to Cleveland for the final day of the trip. Michigan closed out the spring trip experience with a stop at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in the morning with a tour and lunch in the museum. From there, they boarded buses for Canton to see the Pro Football Hall of Fame, where seven Wolverines are honored among NFL greats: Dan Dierdorf, Benny Friedman, Bill Hewitt, Steve Hutchin- son, Ty Law, Tom Mack and Charles Woodson. Junior defensive back Jesse Madden, the grandson of football icon John Madden, was able to get a photo in front of his grandfather's Hall of Fame bust before the team made its way back to Ann Arbor that night. — Anthony Broome PHOTO COURTESY MICHIGAN PHOTOGRAPHY
