6 THE WOLVERINE ❱ JUNE/JULY 2023 ❱ FOOTBALL TRIP YIELDS EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING, TEAM BONDING AND MEMORIES OFF THE FIELD Michigan football closed out its spring trip on May 4 after spending a week traveling along the East Coast and into the state of Ohio. Stops along the way included New York City; Washington, D.C.; Gettysburg, Pa.; Cleveland and Canton, Ohio. The trek kicked off on April 28 with the squad visiting the Statue of Liberty on Ellis Island before heading to several spots in Manhattan, including the New York Stock Exchange, Times Square, a team dinner at Bond 45, Broadway shows and more. The next day, the team took bus tours around Manhattan, which included stops at Ground Zero and the 9/11 Memorial and Museum, along with other New York landmarks. U-M made its way to D.C. on April 30-May 2, where it went to the African American History Museum and the International Spy Mu- seum, and then toured the U.S. Capitol building hosted by Rep. Debbie Dingell of Michigan. The Wolverines also saw the Supreme Court and Library of Con- gress and went to Nationals Park for a Major League Baseball game between Washington and the Chicago Cubs.
