A
don Shuler has big dreams in 2024.
They start with small aspirations.
There is a real possibility
Shuler can be a starter at safety
for Notre Dame as a sophomore. In a
Fighting Irish defense that has veteran
starters all over the place, including four
graduate students along the defensive
line in ends RJ Oben and Jordan Botelho
and tackles Rylie Mills and Howard
Cross III, another graduate student at
linebacker in Jack Kiser and two more in
the secondary with safety Xavier Watts
and slot corner Jordan Clark, that'd be
mighty impressive to steal one of 11 cov-
eted starting positions.
Shuler (No. 8) played 52 defensive snaps as
a freshman, a number that should shoot up
considerably in his sophomore season.
