42 THE WOLVERINE ❱ DECEMBER 2024 ❱ FOOTBALL RECRUITING BY EJ HOLLAND T he early National Signing Day is coming soon (Dec. 4), and Michigan is looking to close the 2025 recruiting cycle with a handful of key recruits to maintain its top-10 class ranking. Through Nov. 11, U-M's class was ranked No. 10 nationally in the On3 Industry Ranking. Below is a deep dive into where head coach Sherrone Moore and his U-M football staff stand with those targets. BURNING DB Elijah Dotson, Belleville (Mich.) High — Dot- son was considered an early Michigan lean but committed to Pitt after the departure of former cornerbacks coach Steve Clinkscale last winter. Michigan circled back to Dotson and has now got- ten him on campus twice this fall. The four-star prospect is trending heavily to- ward the Wolverines, and it wouldn't be surpris- ing to see Sherrone Moore and company seal the deal. Dotson is listed as the No. 244 player and No. 10 athlete nationally and the second-best prospect in Michigan per the On3 Industry Ranking. WARMER DL Quante Gillians, Rochester (N.Y.) Aquinas — Gillians committed to Syracuse in June but notched an offer from Michigan and made an official visit in late October. Michigan is in a great spot to flip him away from his home-state program but still has a bit of work to do. Gillians is looking to visit both Michigan and Syracuse one more time before he makes a final decision. Right now, Michigan seems to have a slight advantage, but staying close to home could play a role. On3 ranks Gillians as a three-star recruit, the No. 42 defensive tackle in the country and the No. 4 player in New York. LB Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng, Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy — Michigan seems to have the lead for Owusu-Boateng coming out of his visit in late November. The Wolverines have made the four- star prospect one of their top remaining targets this cycle, and he definitely felt needed on his trip to Ann Arbor. Notre Dame is set to get him on campus in November, too. Remember, his older brother Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah played for the Irish and is currently in the NFL. Texas is still work- ing here as well. Owusu-Boateng is rated as the No. 9 linebacker in the land and No. 111 overall prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average highlighted by his Rivals ranking as the No. 1 linebacker nation- ally and No. 19 overall prospect. DB Graceson Littleton, Tampa (Fla.) Wiregrass Ranch — Littleton committed to Clemson over the summer but backed out of his verbal pledge and immediately made a visit to Michigan. It's clear the Wolverines have momentum here, but Texas is making a big push and also received an official visit in November. Georgia has also expressed interest and could make a late push. Littleton is tabbed as the nation's No. 97 overall player and No. 12 cornerback by On3. WARM DL Christian Ingram, Covington (Ga.) Newton — Michigan is definitely a strong contender in the race for Ingram, but it's tough to get a true read on where the Wolverines sit within his top five, which also includes SEC schools Georgia, Kentucky, South Carolina and Vanderbilt. Michigan made a strong impression on his official visit for the Oregon game and will keep working to pull him out of the South. The three-star recruit is rated as the No. 73 de- fensive lineman in the country by On3. DL Derry Norris, Port Orange (Fla.) Spruce Creek — A Georgia Tech commit, Norris quietly made a visit to Michigan — just weeks after notching an of- HEAT CHECK Gauging Where Michigan Stands With Its Top Remaining Targets Bradenton (Fla.)
