28 THE WOLVERINE ❱ JUNE/JULY 2026 2026 BASKETBALL RECRUITING ISSUE BY ANTHONY BROOME L incoln Cosby has all the tools to be another do-it-all for- ward, which has been a staple for the U-M program under head coach Dusty May over the last two years. Cosby's road to the court will be a little longer than his peers in the 2026 class, though. Cosby, who was a five-star recruit and the No. 9 prospect in the 2027 class at the time of his Feb. 10 commitment, moved up a class and will redshirt for the 2026-27 season while recovering from a torn ACL suffered five games into his season at Montverde Academy (Fla.). Before his time at Montverde, Cosby played for Overtime Elite as the youngest player to ever sign with the league. "Lincoln has great size, athleticism and versatility, and he impacts the game in a lot of ways," May said in a release on April 28. "He can defend multiple positions, rebound, run the floor, and make plays with the ball in his hands. We're excited to support him through his rehab process and help him come back even stronger." May expanded a bit more on the pro- cess with Cosby during a press confer- ence a day later, saying that they would rather play it safe while getting him up to speed with the lifestyle of a college athlete. "I think this will speed up his growth and development, and they do an amaz- ing job at where he is now," May said in an April 29 press conference.
