22 THE WOLVERINE ❱ SEPTEMBER 2026 QUARTERBACK No. Player Ht. Wt. Cl./Elig. Remaining 19 Bryce Underwood 6-4 230 So./4 14 Tommy Carr 6-4 195 Fr./5 Note: Head coach Kyle Whittingham has already named Underwood the starting quarterback, and he labeled Carr the backup entering camp. Colorado State graduate transfer Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi, who joined the team this summer, will battle Carr for the No. 2 job. RUNNING BACK No. Player Ht. Wt. Cl./Elig. Remaining 23 Jordan Marshall 5-10 220 Jr./3 5 Savion Hiter 5-11 212 Fr./5 Note: Marshall led Michigan in rushing as the backup most of the season a year ago, and now he's at the top of the depth chart. Hiter will be the backup (and play some slot receiver), with senior Bryson Kuzdzal also earning carries as needed. WIDE RECEIVER No. Player Ht. Wt. Cl./Elig. Remaining 3 Andrew Marsh 6-1 192 So./4 9 Channing Goodwin 6-1 192 Jr./3 Note: Marsh has been described as Michigan's No. 1 wide receiver heading into the season. Goodwin, meanwhile, began the 2025 cam- paign as a starter before being benched. He was out this spring with an injury but has stood out in fall camp. WIDE RECEIVER No. Player Ht. Wt. Cl./Elig. Remaining 6 JJ Buchanan 6-4 218 So./4 13 Travis Johnson 6-3 185 Fr./5 or 0 Kendrick Bell 6-2 202 Sr./2 Note: Buchanan is a big-bodied former tight end that has hauled in impressive, contested catches in practice. Johnson, meanwhile, is an early enrollee in the mix to play, and Bell is a veteran with some of the most experience in a winged helmet among his position group. WIDE RECEIVER No. Player Ht. Wt. Cl./Elig. Remaining 12 Salesi Moa 6-2 186 Fr./5 10 Jaime Ffrench 6-2 185 So./4 Note: Moa has consistently been competing for a starting job as the third wide receiver since the beginning of spring workouts. Ffrench was a player that Whittingham circled in the first five practices as a standout. TIGHT END No. Player Ht. Wt. Cl./Elig. Remaining 80 Hogan Hansen 6-6 240 Jr./3 83 Zack Marshall 6-5 245 Sr./2 Note: Hansen missed all but four games with injuries in 2025 but has flashed his potential when healthy. Marshall is the returning leader at the position with 246 offensive snaps last season, and don't forget about senior Deakon Tonielli, who also gained valuable experience in 2025. LEFT TACKLE No. Player Ht. Wt. Cl./Elig. Remaining 77 Blake Frazier 6-6 302 Jr./3 65 Andrew Babalola 6-6 305 So./4 Note: Frazier started six games at left tackle last season and is bat- tling Babalola, who missed the 2025 campaign with an ACL injury, for the job. Whoever doesn't come out on top could either slide inside to guard or serve as the "rhino," a sixth offensive lineman in jumbo packages. LEFT GUARD No. Player Ht. Wt. Cl./Elig. Remaining 71 Evan Link 6-6 313 Sr./2 74 Avery Gach 6-4 302 So./4 Note: Link has received reps at both guard and left tackle during prac- tices as he continues to explore a position change inside. Gach was impressive behind the scenes as a freshman in 2025 and could push for playing time. CENTER No. Player Ht. Wt. Cl./Elig. Remaining 53 Jake Guarnera 6-3 315 Jr./3 67 Houston Ka'aha'aina-Torres 6-4 310 So./4 Note: Guarnera started 10 games at right guard last season, but he was recruited as a center and that's where he'll be in his third cam- paign in Ann Arbor. Ka'aha'aina-Torres transferred from Nebraska and is in line to provide depth in the middle. RIGHT GUARD No. Player Ht. Wt. Cl./Elig. Remaining 70 Brady Norton 6-4 310 Sr./2 or 55 Nathan Efobi 6-4 303 Sr./2 Note: Norton provides versatility at both guard and tackle, which he displayed last season, but has seemingly settled in as an interior line- man. Efobi also has some starting experience. RIGHT TACKLE No. Player Ht. Wt. Cl./Elig. Remaining 54 Andrew Sprague 6-7 310 Jr./3 78 Marky Walbridge 6-6 300 Fr./5 Note: Sprague was penciled in by the coaching staff as a starter enter- ing fall camp. If the Wolverines need to go to a backup at this position, it's possible that one of the tackles from the left side moves over or a guard kicks outside, but Walbridge did start for the blue team during the spring game in April.
