"I feel like, in a short time, we've al- ready made a great connection," Weber said. "I think Coach is super real about everything and someone who will stay in your corner no matter what." Weber is the No. 43 tight end nation- ally and No. 24 player in New Jersey, per Rivals. He's much higher in the Industry Ranking, placing 22nd at his position and 14th in the state. The Nittany Lions are also involved with two 2028 defensive prospects worth monitoring: edge rusher Aaren Cirino, who plays at St. Peter's Prep in Jersey City, and linebacker Akeem Jones Jr. of St. Augustine Prep in South Jersey. Cirino (6-5, 250) earned an offer from the Nittany Lions in May and then justi- fied that offer with a strong camp per- formance in State College in June. The edge rusher hasn't been ranked yet but has earned early Power Four offers from Rutgers, Syracuse, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest. Jones (6-2, 215) visited Penn State for the first time in March, making the Wisconsin game his second visit since Campbell and his staff arrived. The linebacker has earned eight scholarship offers so far and is now being coached by former Penn State running back Bill Belton. He hasn't received a grade yet from Rivals. Oct. 10 | USC Penn State has hosted many of college football's biggest names for its White Out game during their recruitments, and this year's guest list should be no different. With about a month to go until the game, BWI had confirmed that more than 20 uncommitted four-star recruits were expected to be in attendance. That includes a few of this staff's top 2028 targets. Defensive end Cam Toomey is among the most important players on that list. A native of Saratoga Springs, N.Y., Toomey will be making his seventh visit to Penn State, more than he's made to any other school so far. A consensus four-star prospect, Toomey is ranked No. 51 nationally in the Industry Rank- ing and ninth at defensive end. "Penn State, Tennessee, Notre Dame, Alabama and Kentucky are my consis- tent top schools right now," Toomey told Rivals national recruiting analyst Chad Simmons on Sept. 4. "But these visits this fall will definitely help me really see where I'm at with all my top schools." In addition to the five schools men- tioned, Toomey visited both Virginia Tech and Ole Miss earlier this month. He's also expected to check out Texas A&M in October. The list is also deep with offensive linemen, including Cannon Zubeck, Rivals' No. 3 offensive tackle nation- ally and a potential five-star prospect. A resident of Overland Park, Kan., Zubeck (6-7, 255) will be visiting Penn State for the first time. His list of 19 offers in- cludes many of the nation's top schools, including Ohio State, Oklahoma, Or- egon and Tennessee. "Penn State has historically been one of the best programs of all time, with an incredible tradition and atmosphere that comes with it," Zubeck said. "The fans are amazing, and everything about the program is exciting. What Coach Campbell did at Iowa State really excites me as well. The way he developed play- ers and built a strong culture there is something that really stands out to me." Penn State legacy prospect Nick An- derson of Kiski Area in Vandergrift, Pa., is also among those expected to attend. Anderson (6-3, 260) is considered one of the most athletic interior offensive linemen in the country. He's the son of former Penn State offensive lineman Bill Anderson and is listed No. 180 na- tionally in the Industry Ranking, No. 11 among interior linemen and No. 4 in Pennsylvania for the 2028 class. The Nittany Lions have also locked in visits with three excellent wide re- ceivers, including Pennsylvania natives Owen Johnson and Samir Edwards. Johnson, who plays for La Salle out- side of Philadelphia, has limited op- portunities for visits because his team Penn State's Matt Campbell is one of many coaches pursuing New York defensive end Cam Toomey, the No. 51 overall prospect in the Rivals Industry Ranking.
