Notre Dame's hockey team jumped on board with the shining gold
headgear trend in South Bend this season and has been reaping the benefits. The same company that added some sparkle to the football helmets
in 2011 spruced up the hockey helmets last February. Heading into last
weekend's two-game series with Minnesota-Duluth, the Irish had lost
only one of their 14 games since donning the new lids. The 4-0 start to the
regular season this year pushed the team to No. 2 in the USA Today poll.
