onventional wisdom has it that
schools that get the last visit
for a coveted recruit are usually in
an enviable position. The two class
of 2014 prospects still on Michigan's
board visited other schools recently
before getting set to make their
decisions, and that might not bode
well for the Wolverines.
Of course, it's not an exact science,
either, and the U-M coaches have put
in plenty of work with two highly
recruited wings in Marion, Ind., fivestar James Blackmon Jr. and Moss
Point, Miss., four-star Devin Booker.
Blackmon (6-3, Rivals.com's No. 23
overall player nationally) visited
Kentucky for its Big Blue Madness
Oct. 18. He'd previously visited
Michigan, Indiana and Michigan
State, and then saw IU one last time
after speaking to Hoosiers head coach
Tom Crean.
"I liked the U-K visit a lot,"
Blackmon Jr. told us Oct. 21, adding
he wasn't certain he'd take his Indiana
visit (he did). He denied being a
Kentucky lean and wouldn't give a
date for a presser.
"Michigan is definitely a player,"
he added.
