in April on the AAU circuit and then
again at the NBPA camp in June at
Charlottesville, Va.
"I'd been hearing a lot about him
over the last two years, but when
I finally got to watch him I was
impressed with his versatility, his
length for a forward and his ability to
go score from different points on the
court," Zembal said. "He has nice potential as a defensive player, and he
could eventually play a Glenn Robinson III-type power forward role, but
he is a small forward and handles the
ball better then Robinson.
"He needs to get stronger for college, but you have to like the fact that
he's played so well considering he
didn't get to play high school basketball last year."
Head coach John Beilein spoke
of using the power of the Michigan
brand to recruit when he first arrived
in Ann Arbor, figuring he'd get his
share with the block 'M' behind him.
Chatman is the latest example of his
success.
