  where are they now? They couldn't do anything about him. That was one of the greatest things I've seen." He's seen plenty since. He played two seasons for the Cincinnati Ben‑ gals in the NFL, before getting re‑ leased. He signed with the Miami Dolphins, but ACL issues in a knee kept him from passing his physical. He tried Houston, but found himself similarly turned away. So the adjustment ensued — back to Ann Arbor to work for Merrill Lynch, into the nightclub business, and a move to Washington, D.C., where he owned a sports nutrition company. He secured a Mixed Martial Arts fran‑ chise, producing the first professional fight of its nature in Philadelphia his‑ tory. He also worked for Under Armour, before moving back to Washington. Now he has his hand in a host of en‑ terprises, including Sports To You, which secures pro athletes for ap‑ pearances at anything from corporate events to upscale birthday parties. He's involved with an interactive fan blog, as well as HuddlePass.com, a website featuring former Wolver‑ ines and other athletes. He works for Enterprise Car Rental and weaves in‑ volvements around each other. A dozen years after the Michigan State debacle, he's determined that nothing will hold him back. ❏ The Larry Stevens File Michigan Accomplishments: Tallied 108 tackles, with 12 sacks among 25 tackles for loss, in a four-year career … Earned Big Ten championship rings from Michigan's titles in his freshman (2000) and senior (2003) seasons … Garnered a pair of victories over Ohio State … Performed in two Citrus Bowls, an Outback Bowl then a Rose Bowl in his senior season. Michigan Memory: Stevens relished the 38-0 thrashing the Wolverines delivered to Notre Dame in his senior campaign, propelling U-M toward a Big Ten title. "That was a game that I wanted so bad," he said. "I really wanted to make a stand for myself, personally. I was able to make a couple big plays and take down [quarterback] Carlyle Holiday. I blindsided him a couple of times and felt good about it, too. "The stadium … I couldn't even put it in words. I can't even explain it. "It was in Sports Illustrated. Chris Perry was on the cover, and they've got a picture of me knocking Carlyle Holiday out in the middle spread. That's one of my greatest moments." Education: Stevens earned his undergraduate degree in general studies, with a business minor, crediting U-M administrator Greg Hardin for pushing him toward academic success. Family: Stevens has two sons, Adrien Brady Stevens and Brayden Jason Stevens.
