Running back Derrick Green carried 32 times for 105 yards (3.3-yard average) and two touchdowns in Michigan's 6-1 start to the 2013 campaign. photo by lon horwedel Top 10 2013 Freshman Contributors Through Seven Games 1. Tight End Jake Butt: The early enrollee impressed the coaches during spring practice and made huge strides during the summer to nudge himself up the depth chart. Sophomore tight end Devin Funchess' increased role as a wide receiver has opened an opportunity for Butt, and he has taken advantage of it, playing in all seven games, with three starts. He has hauled in seven catches for 67 yards and played well as a blocker on the edge. 2. Running Back Derrick Green: Despite the number of runners competing for playing time behind fifth-year senior running back Fitzgerald Toussaint, Green has vaulted up the depth chart as a rookie. He has chipped in 32 carries for 105 yards (3.3 yards per rush) and two scores, helping take some of the considerable workload off Toussaint's shoulders. 3. Cornerback Channing Stribling: Stribling has made some mistakes, like back-to-back near-pass breakups on Penn State's game-tying drive at the end
