Only five (or 2.3 percent) were "explosives," meaning a gain of at least 25 yards, the longest a 36-yard touchdown pass by Arizona State. The Irish ran 203 plays in that same time with 11 "explosives," or 5.4 percent. 13 Times in Notre Dame history one quarterback passed for at least 300 yards in a game, entering the 2005 season.
