An Officer & Gentleman
I had the pleasure of sitting next to
David Robinson at the Air Force game.
What transpired during the game
gives me a new sense of respect for
Mr. Robinson.
Not long after we had sat down and
the game began, the gawking and staring began. Then came the hand shaking, conversations and picture taking.
At least he got to see his son (Irish
freshman wide receiver Corey Robinson) make a great catch and touchdown.
Through it all, Mr. Robinson smiled
and shook everyone's hand, listened
to the stories each wanted to share and
graciously permitted so many pictures
that I lost track. My wife and I sat in
amazement and we both commented
on how much class Mr. Robinson had.
I always respected Mr. Robinson's
dignity and honor in a professional
sport rife with just the opposite. After
witnessing Mr. Robinson, I have a great
admiration and respect for the man.

Day & Night
Since I attended the USC game
this year, I would like to weigh in on
the point-counterpoint debate about
the benefit of having night games. It
seems that the only one who benefits
from these night games is NBC. They

already get a primetime game with the
Shamrock game. They went 21 years
without one and apparently did just
fine financially.
