Weak early-season opposition in the form of Central Michigan, Akron and Minnesota (though the Gophers' season has progressed to be better than many expected at its outset) meant there weren't many must-see games outside of the contest against the Fighting Irish. Nebraska provided more solid competition Nov. 9 — and indeed the Cornhuskers dealt the Wolverines their first home loss of the Brady Hoke era –— and the visitors list was proportionately more impressive.
