In 2010, Gibby's first year, when current senior captains Mark Beams and Morsi Rayyan were freshmen, Michigan finished eighth in the conference and seventh in the NCAA Great Lakes Regional. The program has come a long way since then. The Wolverines led the Big Ten Championships Nov. 3 with 600 meters to go, before falling to eventual champion Indiana down the stretch. At the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Nov. 15, the Wolverines finally won their first postseason crown since the 2007 NCAA regional, finishing three points ahead of host Wisconsin.
