from our readers ing quarterbacks are hoping answers are found quickly. Richard Glass Portage, Mich. So are the regular ones, and everyone else at Schembechler Hall, Richard. Hoke has made it clear that while he's fully involved in offensive planning during the week, he trusts Borges to call plays. The defense has blitzed often, but not successfully with consistency. And the offensive line issues are well documented. Won't Join Boo Birds, But … Dear The Wolverine: I, like most Michigan fans, am extremely disappointed in the performance of this year's team. What was a promising beginning seems to be falling apart. The worst part of it is that this football team seems to be getting worse with every passing game instead of improving. That said, I will be cheering for them just as passionately the rest of the season, no matter the outcome. My husband and I made the trip from Florida to Michigan for the Nebraska game last week. Love the atmosphere, love everything about Michigan football and we'll bleed maize and blue forever, win or lose. It was disappointing to see, again, the empty student section until midway through the first half of the game. Maybe David Brandon needs to open up some of those seats to the thousands of people who would love to be able to experience a game at The Big House. I don't understand it. Secondly, the booing during the second half. I didn't boo but was extremely unhappy with the play calling of the offensive coaches who chose to attempt to run the ball up the middle on the first two downs when we were in scoring position. We haven't been successful running the ball well all year, and have had negative yardage the last two games. What kind of play calling is that? Geez! I would never boo the kids playing the game, but the coaching staff is another story, we may need to make some changes. Devin Gardner is surely not to blame — he has no time! Johnny Football (really dislike him) couldn't do much better with the absence of line blocking. That all said, hoping for a good end to the year and let's hope we get back on track soon. Michigan cannot afford to have a mediocre football team. GO BLUE! Laura Webb Lakeland, Fla. Laura, hopefully the win over Northwestern helped salve some of the wounds from the previous two weeks. It's obvious Brandon may have to revisit the student section policies, because the problem hasn't been solved. As for play calling, it's always open to second-guessing. But you note the blocking issues that require clearing up, and give grace to Gardner in that instance. We might suggest that play calling will become infinitely easier as well, once a dominant offensive line gets reestablished.
