michigan football Hot 11 Update: Offensive Standouts Continue To Lead Each week during the season, TheWolverine.com ranks the top 11 performers from the previous game. Over the course of 10 games, we've tabulated the results from those Monday features to bring you the Hot 11 heading into Michigan's final two games. 1. WR Jeremy Gallon (91 points): The fifth-year senior continued to be the Wolverines' most consistent playmaker, catching 20 balls for 231 yards in three games, including a 10-reception, 115-yard effort against Northwestern. Through 10 games, Gallon had 1,062 yards, becoming the first U-M receiver to reach 1,000 yards since 2007. 2. QB Devin Gardner (85 points): Gardner completed 56 of 97 pass attempts (57.7 percent) for 632 yards with two touchdowns and a single interception in games against Michigan State, Nebraska and Northwestern. He wasn't terribly productive and slumped some, but Gardner also played with toughness and leadership. 3. WR Devin Funchess (70 points): The sophomore receiver/tight end hybrid was second only to Gallon with 19 catches from Nov. 2-16, totaling 192 yards and a touchdown. Funchess was up to 42 grabs for 684 yards and five scores in 10 games. 4. DT Jibreel Black (55 points): Michigan's defense has been on the rise recently, and Black has been at the heart of the Wolverines' strong performances. The senior defensive tackle had four tackles for loss among nine total stops in games against the Spartans, Cornhuskers and Wildcats, and helped spark U-M's pass rush. 5. CB Raymon Taylor (54 points): A junior, Taylor continues to put up eyepopping tackle numbers for a cornerback, recording 66 stops in 10 games to rank third on the team. He also had a team-high eight passes broken up and had notched three interceptions this season. 6. TB Fitzgerald Toussaint (53 points): Toussaint didn't make a single Hot 11 in weeks eight, nine and 10, but stays put because of his work the first seven games. The senior ball carrier had just 26 yards on 17 carries (1.5 yards per rush) versus MSU and Nebraska, and may be losing his job more permanently to a pair of freshmen. 7. DE Frank Clark (34 points): Michigan still didn't have a lot to show for it — with only 20 sacks in 10 games — but its pass rush was coming alive after U-M found a combination of Black, Clark and rookie Taco Charlton. Clark had four tackles for loss from Nov. 2-16 and led the Maize and Blue with 9.5 tackles for loss through Nov. 16.
