Joining Cole in the Army game will be the Wolverines' top remaining uncommitted target. Southfield (Mich.) High defensive end Malik McDowell is a four-star prospect and the No. 40 player in the nation according to Rivals.com. In a ceremony at his school Nov. 8, he was presented with his jersey. He is the second-ever Southfield product to play in the game, joining 2002 standout (and former Wolverine) Gabe Watson. The majority of Michigan's commitments will play in the Under Armour All-America Game. Aired live on ESPN from St. Petersburg, Fla., Jan. 2, the game features six U-M pledges and a number of uncommitted targets. However, one Michigan pledge will no longer participate in the game after initially being selected. Grand Rapids (Mich.) Christian wide receiver Drake Harris set a state record for receiving yards as a junior with 2,019, but missed his senior season with a hamstring injury. He will sit out the Under Armour Game to continue resting that injury and prepare to enroll at Michigan the following week. Fellow early enrollees Wilton Speight (a three-star quarterback from Richmond, Va.), Bryan Mone (a fourstar defensive tackle from Salt Lake City) and Michael Ferns (a four-star linebacker from St. Clairsville, Ohio) will all depart central Florida directly for Ann Arbor at the conclusion of the game. "It really means a lot to me to be able to represent not only my family, but this school, this community," said Speight, who plays at Richmond (Va.) Collegiate School. "It hasn't all been pretty these past few years in recruiting. You never really know what coaches mean, but through all the ups and downs, my family has been there with me." Although they won't enroll early at Michigan, future Wolverines Jared Wangler (a two-star linebacker from Warren, Mich.) and Paramus (N.J.) Catholic teammates Juwann BushellBeatty (a three-star offensive lineman) and Jabrill Peppers (a five-star defensive back and the No. 2 player in the country) will also play in the Under Armour game. ❑   On The Web For regular reports on Michigan football recruiting plus videos of U-M commitments and targets visit TheWolverine.com.
