John Mosley, 1980-83 Defensive Back Former special teams captain ropes Irish into Pinstripe Bowl BY DAN MURPHY J ohn Mosley found himself in a familiar situation during the final two weeks of November. Just as he did exactly 30 years ago, the former Irish captain sat across from Notre Dame brass in well-appointed offices pitching the merits of a postseason trip for a team that had failed to meet expectations in the season. This time around, Mosley was selling head coach Brian Kelly and several others around the football program on joining his new employer at the New Era Pinstripe Bowl. Mosley has planned football games and other events for the New York Yankees since the storied baseball franchise opened its new stadium in 2009. The week after Notre Dame lost to Pittsburgh, tumbling from BCS bowl contention, Mosley made the trip to South Bend to lay the groundwork that would land the Irish in New York City for their 2013 season finale.
