things that I didn't expect to see — it was just a perfect trip. Overall, the trip was just a fun experience, and I really loved my time in South Bend." Hill spent the weekend with his father, and the two left feeling great about the visit. While it's difficult to go away for school and leave behind family, Hill knows that he has his father's blessing. "My dad had a major impact on me and was key to my decision," Hill said. "We talked about it a lot, and it was the place he wanted me at and he knew I wanted to be there. We discussed the pros and cons of both Notre Dame and Texas Tech and the others, and just decided that this is the place for me." The 6-2, 224-pound recruit pledged to the Irish after he returned home from his official visit to South Bend. He spoke to Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly and passed along the good news. "We had a great conversation about everything," he said. "We also talked about what position they want me at, and he said that I have a lot of options and they like my versatility. He was pretty excited. It showed how much he wanted me to come there." Hill has developed a very strong relationship with his primary recruiter at FILM ANALYSIS Strengths Hill gives maximum effort all the time … He's quick off the snap and is relentless in pursuing the football … He's very disruptive and aggressive when rushing the passer … He's very athletic and has excellent speed … He was clocked at 4.56 in the 40-yard dash in the summer heading into his senior season. Areas To Improve Much of his competition ran the ball in high school, and he will need to improve his ability to defend the pass … He will need to develop his technique and coverage skills during year one in South Bend … There are question marks whether he can play in space, but he could make an ideal Cat linebacker in time. — Tom Loy
