"The family really likes Notre Dame a lot, but being far from home is a little issue. I know he wants to make his family happy, and I think he's pretty torn between USC, Notre Dame and even Oregon. Hopefully I can convince him to join me, and I know that it would be easier for his mom knowing that both of us were there." Luatua's family, however, couldn't be happier with his decision to be a part of the Fighting Irish family. His brother is even on board with Notre Dame. "My family likes Notre Dame a lot, and they are really happy for me," he said. "I even talked to Isaac the other night, and he wants me to go to Notre Dame. That was pretty cool to hear. He thinks I'll do good there and be happy." Luatua has been in the spotlight since he first burst onto the recruiting scene as a sophomore in high school. He was dominant and started adding offers way back then. However, the process has taken its toll on he and his family, and he's glad to be done with it. "Just talking to all the coaches every week and every day is crazy," he said. "I kind of get tired of it, but I know I have to do it. It's nice that all this will be over with. My parents are even getting tired of it. It's a lot to deal with, and it'll be nice to go back to normal life and not having friends asking me where I'm going all the time."
