notable numbers 2 Women's soccer players were named to the National Soccer Coaches' Association of America (NSCAA) All-America first team: third-year midfielder Morgan Brian and second-year forward Makenzy Doniak (third-year midfielder Danielle Colaprico was named to the third team). It marks the third time the program has boasted multiple first-team selections. Virginia lacrosse players were selected in the 2014 Major League Lacrosse Collegiate Draft — defenseman Scott McWilliams (No. 8 by the Boston Cannons), midfielder Rob Emery (No. 17, Boston Cannons) and attackman Mark Cockerton (No. 56, Rochester Rattlers). Was Virginia's national standing in the 2013-14 Learfield Sports Directors' Cup standings as of Jan. 9, after all points from fall sports were calculated. The Cavaliers' total of 323 points was just 28 points behind ACC leader Florida State, which is currently third nationally. The women's tennis team was tied for 13th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association preseason rankings, which debuted Jan. 2. UVa boasts four ranked singles' players, led by second-year JULIA ELBABA at No. 11, and also one ranked doubles team — Elbaba and rookie Rachel Pierson combine to form the No. 8 tandem in the land.
