Honors/accomplishments: Named North Caro - lina Independence Schools Athletic Association First-Team All-State in 2013 … Helped Charlotte Christian win back-to-back state titles … Broke out in state title game as a junior when he made three catches for 59 yards and two touchdowns in a 24-21 win over Charlotte Providence Day … Also plays baseball and may play both sports at NC State. Recruitment: Played in shadow of teammate and four-star tight end Jeb Blazevich, who signed with Georgia … State-title-game performance as a junior helped lead to offers from Colorado State and Charlotte's upstart football program … Garnered an offer from NC State in April after the Pack watched him play in a baseball game during the spring evaluation period … Committed to NCSU after the Kay Yow Spring Game April 20. Recruiter of record: Tight ends coach and special teams coordinator Eddie Faulkner. Quotable: "He's a very physical player. He has the ability to dominate when he wants to — he's that kind of player." — Charlotte Christian head coach Jason Estep. Dave Doeren on Bradbury: "We liked the ver - satility that he had because he can play on the line of scrimmage and set the edge, but he can also be a guy that can be split out or line up in the backfield as a fullback because of his blocking ability." Scouting report: Throwback-type football player who wore short sleeves when Charlotte Christian played at Raleigh Ravenscroft Nov. 1 with temperatures in the 30s … Plays with a high motor and level of physicality … Not a playmaking athlete, but can surprise defenders with how well he moves. 2014 projection: At least one and perhaps two tight ends in the 2014 class will have a chance to play early. Bradbury, although not as highly rated as the other tight ends signed, has a shot of seeing the field this fall. BRADLEY CHUBB ■ DE Powder Springs (Ga.) Hillgrove High • 6-4 • 240 pounds Stats: As a senior, made 101 tackles and eight sacks. Recruitment: Had offers from Duke, Georgia Tech, Iowa, Mississippi State, Wake Forest, West Virginia and East Carolina, among others … Was offered by NC State when he visited in June and committed to the Wolfpack over WFU June 24 … Is good friends with fellow Wolfpack defensive line recruit Justin Jones, and the two committed on the same day. Recruiter of record: Wide receivers coach Frisman Jackson. Quotable: "It's tough to come back from injury, but he's done a good job with therapy and is in good shape. He doesn't look like he's missed a beat." — Head coach Phil Ironisde to the Marietta Daily-Journal. Dave Doeren on Chubb: "He does a lot of different things. He's good in the run game. Obviously, you're always looking for explosion that can change direction, and I thought he played really well with his hands." Scouting report: Ideally suited to be an edge rusher in a 4-3 defense or standup outside linebacker in a 3-4 approach, given his abilities to pursue the quarterback … Shows an explosive burst … Has a frame that should support extra weight without sacrificing athleticism … Will need to get stronger and continue to adjust to playing with his hand on the ground in the Pack's 4-3 scheme. This past season was his first lining up at defensive end. 2014 projection: Chubb flew under the radar a bit because of his ACL injury, but he had a big senior season and is a strong candidate to see the field early, perhaps as soon as next year given NCSU's low numbers at defensive end. A.J. COLE ■ P College Park (Ga.) Woodward Academy • 6-5 • 215 pounds Stats: As a senior, punted 26 times for a 40.1 yard average, kicked 32 of 42 kickoffs for touchbacks and connected on 7 of 9 field goals with a long of 47. Honors/accomplishments: Named second-team Class AAA All-State by Georgia Sportswriters … Selected first-team 6-AAA All-Region by Georgia coaches and chosen to the Atlanta Journal- Constitution Atlanta/South Fulton All-Area first team (as placekicker) in 2013 … Played in the Florida-Georgia All-Star Game in West Palm Beach, Fla., Jan. 4. Recruitment: Camped at NC State on June 17, earned an offer that day and committed five days later … Is a possibility to grayshirt, which means he will delay enrollment until next spring so he can count toward next year's class. Recruiter of record: Tight ends/fullbacks coach and special teams coordinator Eddie Faulkner. Quotable: "He has an athletic frame, has great talent … has huge potential, needs to drive the ball better on his punts and should be able to play early in college. He's a very talented big athlete." — Head coach Phil Ironisde to the Marietta Daily-Journal. Dave Doeren on Cole: "He kicked the highest ball I've seen in person in our camp. The guy consecu - tively had five- to six-second hang times in our camp. He was very impressive." Scouting report: Good-sized punter who is athletic enough to have played tight end for Woodward Academy as well … Began punting full-time as a senior … Was discovered by Mike McCabe of One On One Kicking in December of 2012 at a showcase kicking camp and blossomed quickly under McCabe's tutelage. 2014 projection: Senior Wil Baumann will handle the punting duties for NC State in the fall of 2014, so Cole will wait his turn until the spring of 2015. 44-53.Recruiting Bios.indd 45 2/25/14 2:53 PM
