Dame's 23-man class
had been secured on Na-
tional Signing Day, rum-
blings of one more roster
addition, a far more expe-
rienced player, started to
make their way through
the halls of the Irish foot-
ball complex. Two weeks
later, fifth-year senior Cody
Riggs officially joined the
team.
Riggs comes to Notre
Dame after spending four
years with the Florida Ga-
tors. During the last three
years, he was a regular con-
tributor in the defensive
backfield and on special
teams. He started 26 games,
compiled 107 tackles (nine
for loss) and grabbed one
interception for the Gators,
first as a cornerback before
moving to the safety posi-
tion last year to help fill a
gap in the Florida second-
ary.
