since returning. The new quarter-
backs coach, hired by Notre Dame in
January, has experience tutoring NFL
standout Robert Griffin III and will
now use his insight to help Golson
reach the next level.
"A lot of smiles," Kelly said.
"There's good communication, a good
connection. Early on, you can sense
that there's going to be a strong rela-
tionship there."
"It's been great," Golson said. "He's
a guy that really wants it, and I'm a
guy that really wants it as well. So I
think us coming together with that in
mind helps our connection."
One of the compelling storylines of
spring practice is the emergence of
team leaders in preparation for the
upcoming season.
Kelly hopes Golson will fit the bill in
that category.
Golson, who rushed for 298 yards and six touchdowns in 2012, will bring an extra dimension to the
Fighting Irish offense this season.
