STEP UP TO THE PLATE 2014
Virginia Baseball's annual fundraiser, Step Up to the Plate, was held at the John Paul Jones Arena
on January 31. This year's event enjoyed record-breaking success that included a sellout crowd of
1,000, the sale of 40 sponsored tables and over $75,000 in auction revenue.
Head Virginia Baseball Coach, Brian O'Connor, opened the evening by introducing the 2014 team
and providing insight into what fans can expect to see on the diamond this season. Virginia Baseball
alum and special guest, Sean Doolittle, was interviewed on stage by 1070 WINA play-by-play an-
nouncer Channing Poole. Guests heard from keynote speaker, John Farrell, manager of the reigning
Kevin McMullan, Brian O'Connor and Karl Kuhn (left to right) were recognized for their 10th con-
secutive year together as UVa baseball's coaching staff.
