1 Ranking of Notre Dame's Mendoza College of Business for the fifth straight year by Bloomberg Businessweek's undergraduate business school ratings, released April 4. Rounding out the top five, among the 152 schools that participated, were Virginia, Cornell, Boston College and Washington University (located in St. Louis). 3 Times Notre Dame women's basketball head coach Muffet McGraw has been the consensus National Coach of the Year by sweeping all four awards — the most ever by a coach in women's basketball since the advent of the NCAA Tournament in 1982. The four awards are the Pat Summitt Trophy, the Naismith Women's College Coach of the Year, the Associated Press Division I Women's National Coach of the Year, and the United States Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) Women's National Coach of the Year. McGraw was also the consensus National Coach of the Year during the 2001 national title campaign and in 2013. 6 Women's basketball programs that have been to four consecu- tive Final Fours since the NCAA Tournament began in 1982. Notre Dame (2011-14) became the newest member this season, joining Connecticut (seventh straight in 2014), Tennessee, LSU, Louisiana Tech and Stanford. 7 Notre Dame hockey players among the 11 in the senior class who have signed professional deals. An eighth, left wing Jeff Costello, will join them later in April. The seven were centers T.J. Tynan (Columbus Blue Jackets) and David Gerths (South Carolina Sting Rays, ECHL); defensemen Stephen Johns (Chicago Blackhawks), Shayne Taker (Florida Panthers) and Kevin Lind (Anaheim Ducks); right wing Bryan Rust (Pittsburgh Penguins); and goalie Steven Sum- merhays (Fort Wayne Komets, ECHL). They were invited to the 16- team NCAA Tournament three times during their careers, won the final CCHA Tournament title in 2013 and advanced to the Frozen Four in 2011. 8 Football recruits from the state of Texas who have signed or verbally pledged to Notre Dame since 2013, most recently 2015 verbals Jalen Guyton at wide receiver and Prentice McKinney at safety.
