BY TOM LOY After visiting South Bend March 21, Allen (Texas) High School wide re- ceiver Jalen Guyton knew his future home was at Notre Dame. The 6-0, 180-pound prospect chose Notre Dame over offers from Arizona State, Baylor, Clemson, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Stanford, Texas A&M and others. "I went up there, and it was every- thing that I thought it would be and more," Guyton said. "It was a great campus and a perfect fit. It feels good to be Irish." Although South Bend is a long way away from his home in the Lone Star State, Guyton said that his family is completely on board with his deci- sion and everyone is excited about his future. "I was up there with my dad, my uncle and two of my cousins," he said. "My dad was just telling me that he supports my decision. He said that he prefers that I attend one of three schools, and Notre Dame was one of them. "My dad said it's my decision, and he's always wanted me to make a deci- sion thinking about football, education and life after football. He said that I made an important decision and the right one." During his junior season, Guyton — the No. 79 recruit in Texas and the na- tion's No. 80 wide receiver according to 247Sports — totaled 62 receptions for 1,061 yards and 13 touchdowns. Guyton said he will return to Notre Dame for an official visit during the upcoming season and isn't planning on visiting any other programs. Al- though he's allowed five official visits, he doesn't see any other schools affect- ing his decision to head to South Bend. "I am 100 percent committed to COMMITMENT PROFILE JALEN GUYTON Irish Continue Texas Success With Three-Star Receiver 247Sports ranks Guyton as a three-star prospect, the No. 80 wide receiver in the country and the No. 79 prospect in Texas.
